Special Focus on German Language


This master programme aims for highly motivated students, being interested to become a part of the German textile network and community, either in the industry, or also as a PhD candidate at the ITA, RWTH Aachen University itself. Learning the German language is a necessity for this. That is why this course is built upon German as well as English modules. All compulsory courses are taught in English, while some of the elective courses and research projects are conducted in German. International applicants must already inherit basic German language skills (B1) upon the time of enrolment that can be developed and at RWTH Aachen University. The German Courses are not part of the official Master's curriculum. However, from 2016, we will offer a preparatory Textile Master's College with German Language Courses as well as technical courses prior to the start of the semester.

1) Study the German Language prior the start of the M.Sc. Programme

From 2016, students will have the chance to acquire the requested German knowledge until the B1 level prior to the beginning of the Master Programme at RWTH Aachen University. The RWTH International Academy will offer a Master's College for Textile students with a prepraratory German Course and technical courses. More information upon request.

2) Study the German Language during the M.Sc. Programme

We offer German courses to keep on learning German while studying in order to reach a B 2 or even C1 level.

Examination Regulations


The examination regulations determine the scope of your studies and inform about all rules regarding exams, admission, master thesis etc. These rules are regularly updated. Please refer to the version as indicated for your year of intake.

Minor, First and Second Research Project


Completed academic paper, which is written under supervision. The students work out an outline with their tutors, determine partial tasks and aids and also appoint the required amount of time necessary for fulfilling the task. Report and oral presentation. Further information TBA

Master Thesis


Before the beginning of the thesis, students have to complete a minimum of 45 CP. The registration has to be done with the form below.
